My Teaching Philosophy

3/2/2016

  • My primary goal is to encourage my students to develop a love of learning. To do this I will always try to make my classes personal, thoughtful, and fun.
  • Teaching is a privilege, a precious gift. I am very lucky to do what I do and I will always remember that I have been given a wonderful opportunity to help others through my work.
  • I believe that the best measure of a student's achievement is in their effort not their ability. To account for this I will make attendance, participation, and individual progress important parts of the grade assessment.
  • I believe that the student/teacher relationship is a very special trust. I will hold myself to the strictest moral code in all relations with my students by treating them with with absolute respect and fairness.
  • I also believe that the meaning of life is found in helping others. I will do whatever I can to help my students in any way possible to follow their dreams. Helping others makes me happy.
  • I am a person with failings like anyone else. Probably more than most people. But I have a big heart and I am passionate about my job. I will do my best at all times to make sure that my students get what they need.
