Thirsty Thursday: Cosmetic Surgery

This course is designed to prepare students with the language skills that  they will need to survive and thrive during foreign study periods. We will be looking at a variety of helpful grammars and vocabulary sets in the context of topics highlighting various aspects of Western culture."

The first unit explores some of the conflict surrounding cosmetic surgery. Do people today have a good "body image"? How does our culture reinforce a specific idea of beauty? Should beauty be defined by a major economic power like the cosmetic surgery industry?

Super Tuesday: Rules

Sooner or later most young adults have some conflict with their parents. Today we are going to talk about some of the sources of problems between teenagers and their parents. Believe it or not, some teens are completely out of control. In addition to the activities in our workbook we will be watching and discussing an episode of "Supernanny," an American reality show starring parenting expert Jo Frost.
